Day Rodrigues is a director, screenwriter, audiovisual researcher, and collaborating professor in the postgraduate program “Cidades em Disputa” at Escola da Cidade (SP). She produced, wrote, and directed the documentary “O Corpo da Terra” (2023) for the 18th Mostra Internazionale di Architettura: Laboratório do Futuro, as part of the exhibition “Terra” (Brazil Pavilion). She was also part of the production team for the series “O Enigma da Energia Escura” (Lab Fantasma) and “Quebrando o Tabu” (Spray Filmes). The latter was awarded at the 2019 New York Festivals TV & Films (USA), and the second season in 2020 was awarded as the best documentary series for TV at the Gran Premio de Cine Brasileño. The episode “Racismo y resistencia” was awarded at the 2019 MIPCOM Diversify TV Excellence Awards (Cannes).

Regarding her audiovisual direction, her notable short films include “Mujeres Negras – Projetos de Mundo” (2016), which won awards in the popular jury and direction categories at the XXI Cine PE – Audiovisual Festival, and “Uma geografía de las desigualdades” (2019), screened at the MOSTRA XIII Festival de Cine Brasileño de Conciencia Social (USA). She has also directed the web series “Geledés – Caminhos e Legados” and “Racismo e Bullying: ¿Cómo proteger a las jóvenes negras?” for Geledés – Instituto da Mulher Negra (2022).
