Dr. Wang Shaojie
Shaojie Wang (1989-) holds a Doctorate in Art from Tsinghua University and a Master’s
degree in Art from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts. He also conducted research on
the East Asian art market as a Visiting Doctor at the University of Tsukuba in Japan. He have
always been paying attention to the changes in the development of the Asian art market, as
well as the role and responsibilities that Asia plays in the global art market. Especially, He
have some unique insights into the formation of China’s art market in the past three decades
and the effects of globalization. Participated in the project “Research on the Development of
China’s Art Market” initiated by the Chinese government, and published papers including
“Supply Side on China’s Art Auction Market in 2020” (2021) and “From Art Consumption to
Consumer Art: Contemporary Transformation of China’s Ink and wash Art Market” (2023).
