Lifang Zhang is a PhD candidate in Art History at the Fine Art Department, Rhodes University, South Africa.
Her PhD thesis focuses on the use of found materials and artistic engagements with urban spaces in Harare.
She obtained her Master’s degree in African Literature at the Department of Asian and African Languages & Literatures at Peking University in 2017, and her Master’s degree in Art History at the Fine Art Department at Rhodes University in 2019.
Her interests include: contemporary African art; art and city; artists’ initiatives; art infrastructure and materiality; artistic engagements and networks in the south; etc.
